Failure modes

  • Periodic measurement must be started explicitly after power on. Reading before start_periodic_measurement returns no data.
  • One measurement every 5 seconds in periodic mode. Polling faster returns the same sample repeatedly.
  • Automatic self-calibration assumes the sensor sees fresh air regularly. In a permanently occupied or sealed space it drifts the baseline downward and must be disabled.
  • Readings are unusable for the first minute after power on.
